Dream Big Dreams

Every great achievement started in the mind. When Christopher Columbus set out on his voyage he was seen as a mad man but was later celebrated by the same people who thought he was going haywire. Jonas Salk was labeled as outcast but today people in tropical Africa will forever be grateful to his work. When the first American to go to the moon told his teacher that he was going to walk on the moon the teacher said he should free himself from that daydream because it will not be possible to walk on the moon. I wonder where his teacher would be when Appollo 1 landed on the moon.

Every great achievement start with an internal picture it is this picture that made them outstanding. A friend of mine said that “if you want to dream why not dream big dreams since there is no price attached to it”. The power of dream can not be overestimated. Centuries ago who would ever believe that man will be flying in the sky but today it is a reality because someone dared to dream. You can only achieve to the level of the dream you dream the most astounding thing about dream is that they are free.

Dreams are so important that you can not achieve anything except you have first dreamt about it. The life you live today is a reflection of what you have dreamt in your mind at one time or the other. Bill Gates dreamt of having the PC in every home and today it has made him the richest man in the world. D. Gonsalous thought of what he would do with a million and he built a large university. If you will be successful you must dream success. The truth is that things are created twice first as a thought then as a form. Every thing you today first existed in the mind of someone then it came out. No wonder Einstein said that the richest place was the grave.

Many people loose their ability to dream due to life circumstances. Everyone of us was born with the ability to dream. That is why we are not taught to dream every child dreams because its in him to do that he is naturally wired to dream. The reason we loose that ability is that we experience rejection at an early age and then we carry this into adulthood. The other reason people fail to dream is because of the setbacks they have experienced in life. If you look around you see a lot people who have failed and allowed the failure to get hold of them. The reason they failed is because they lost hope in their dream.

So how do we get back to dream building? The first thing is to believe in yourself as you cannot achieve anything except you first believe in yourself. The next is to read stories of dreamers as it will inspire you to dream lastly watch great movies and listen to inspiring song this will bring out the child in you. Remember if you have to dream at all dream big.
