You Need Persist

One Of the the major qualities you need for success is persistence. I read the story of Uncle Darby in the book Think and Grow Rich. In the book Napoleon talked of Uncle Darby who in the days of gold rush bought a field in search of gold. After drilling he got to a point where he thought there is no gold he decided to sell all his equipment and leave the place.

The man who bought the mine called in mining engineers and they discovered that it was only six inches more and they will get gold. So he got his working materials together and got to work and exactly six inches he got gol.

When Uncle Darby heard of the story he was not happy but he had learnt the lesson of his life. He also told of the story of a child who asked him for a dime . He threatened to beat but he remained undaunted and he had to give her what she requested. With this two humbling experiences he decided he would never accept no for a final answer. He went ahead to be one of the highest life insurance salesman in the US.

You need persistence if you must succeed in life. Most success achieved usually come after a few set backs. To persist you need to resolve, which means you promise yourself that you will not give up. Learn to be like the postage stamp that sticks to the letter until it gets to the destination.

See you at the top
